Quick Fixes: How To Improve The State Of Casino Gaming
Sometimes, a few simple changes can make a world of difference. And while online casinos are more than booming right now with new options available seemingly every week, we think there are improvements to be made.
Thanks to the speed of technological advancements, the first suggestion on this list should be able to happen sooner rather than later.
VR Horse Betting
Part of what makes online gambling so popular is the ease of access. What’s more convenient than being able to sit down at your living room computer and use it as a poker table? While many games have certainly taken advantage of that simplicity, we think there’s room for growth, particularly with sporting events such as horse and dog betting. People bet on horse racing because they can cheer for a specific competitor, see the odds plain as day, and search through the directory of horses and future events. This experience could be heightened, without sacrificing any of the convenience, with the use of virtual reality.
By that, we mean we can stay at home but still sit in the stands to cheer on our favorite pony. Now, of course in this situation we’d be sitting in virtual stands, but this is as close as we’ve ever been to the action from our computer screens. That means betting on a horse or dog can also get you a ticket to the virtual race, and who can argue with that? When that catches on, don’t be surprised to see that with everything from MMA fights to stand-up comedy.
Storyline Needs To Be #1 For Slots
To be fair, there are plenty of slots that offer sequels where players can continue to follow the journeys of a protagonist, but that seems to happen far too little. If we can make storylines the norm, we believe that you’ll see more customers looking forward to sequels and following slot series. A big part of the reason people play Final Fantasy is the storyline each entry has to offer. What happens to the characters and worlds that the development team works so hard to build up? It’s answering this question and working through the game that keeps most people coming back. While we don’t expect narrative on the level of Final Fantasy VII, we certainly would like to see slot developers make more of an effort.
Customizable Avatars
Essentially, we just want people to be able to have the option to create in-game avatars that we can use in online casinos. This will help people see a version of themselves in the game and anchor them to the action. Facebook is already ahead of the curve on this one with their Oculus VR avatars, but who knows where avatar technology could go in the future? We could see facial recognition software that allows users to express themselves solely with body language and facial expressions. That could be huge for a game like poker where reading your opponent is a natural part of the game.
