88 suspicious betting alerts reported by IBIA in Q2 2022

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) reported 88 cases of suspicious betting to the relevant authorities during the second quarter (Q2) of 2022. The Q2 alerts covered eight sports, with the top three being football (32 cases), tennis (27), and horseracing (12) and accounting for over 80% of all alerts reported. From a geographical perspective, the alerts spanned 36 countries with Europe accounting for around half (52%) of all alerts reported, followed by Asia (20%) and North America (15%).
Ontario was the principal focus of regulatory interest during Q2, with the Canadian province opening its online market to regulated operators. IBIA has been accredited as an independent integrity monitor by the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and represents the majority of the operators currently offering sports betting in the province. The association’s membership continues to show steady growth.
