The Best Video Games of All Time

Video games have been around for decades and if you’re a gamer you’ll have your favourites. Of course, the question that surfaces is which one is the best of all time? This question can’t really be answered as we all have our favourites and you can measure it in various ways. Sales and downloads, critic reviews, and surveys, the ways to measure are seemingly endless.
Well, we had to pick one, and so here is a list of the best video games of all time according to Metacritic reviews.
Legends of Zelda
The fantasy action adventure franchise is said to be the best game of all time by Metacritic. Originally it came out on the Nintendo and there have been 29 issues of the game or its sequels to date. Not bad for a game that started in 1986. Metacritic gave it 99/100 and users 9.2/10. Shows just how good it is.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2
Believe it or not, this game is a skateboarding simulator and critics were impressed with the range of tricks players had available to them. The developers brought in a building element as the game features a skate park designer. The critics gave the game 98/100. Users were not so impressed and gave it 7.4/10. Not every gamer is a skater.
Grand Theft Auto IV
The Grand Theft franchise is legendary in gaming circles and Metacritic gave the game 9.8/10. The plot is that two Europeans fall into debt and are dragged into the criminal underworld. Released in 2008 it is the sixth entry in the main franchise and the eleventh overall. Users rated it 7.5/10.
SoulCalibur
Released originally in 1995 and the seventh installment was released in 2018. The game is a weapon based fighting video game and although it may not have the name or clout of others on this list it still earned 98/100 from critics and 8.6/10 from users which is pretty awesome and puts it up there with the Legends of Zelda.
Super Mario Galaxy
In an age where Call of Duty reigned supreme, Super Mario Galaxy was the go-to game when it emerged on the Wii. In fact, its user score of 9/10 affirms this. For some reason, the critics gave the game 97/100. Guess they were not impressed that when you swung the Wii remote you swung the Nunchuk. The game is amazing and won a BAFTA following its release in 2007.
A Different Type of Gaming
Of course, video games are not the only online gaming in town. Traditional slots, card, and casino games can be found online with UK casino sites offering other elements such as live play with the latter’s popularity growing all the time.
Live play is when a real croupier deals cards, spins roulette wheels, and rolls dice in real time and is streamed in HD. It negates the random number generator element, is a very engaging experience, and it is the closest you’ll get to playing in a real casino without leaving your house.
The gaming industry is changing and developing all the time and now is a good time to check it out.
