Serbia Wins the Title at eFootball 2023 European Championship

This year’s eFootball 2023 European Championship, organised by the European Esports Federation (EEF) with support from the International Esports Federation (IESF), welcomed the top 26 players from 26 countries who competed in virtual stadiums for the eFootball 2023 trophy, a spot at the 2022 World Esports Championships in Bali and a €10,000 prize pool.
Players from 26 countries went head-to-head in eFootball 2023 at Bemax Arena in Podgorica, Montenegro, for the first-place title and a grand prize of $5000. This year, Serbia came on top, where Marko Roksic won 3:1 against Muchahit Sevimli from Turkiye. David Garevski from North Macedonia and Orel Daniel from Israel shared third place in this year’s tournament.
Boban Totovski, General Secretary of IESF, said: “Congratulations to all the players who participated in the eFootball 2023 European Championship. The level of competition was outstanding, and all of the players put on an excellent performance. Congratulations to Marko Roksic for winning and bringing the title to Serbia. We are very excited to welcome him to Bali later this year for the World Esports Championships Finals and see what will happen there.”
Ido Brosh, President of EEF, said: “I am proud and thankful to all of the players that participated in our final European Esports Championships event this year in Podgorica. This event was special not only because it was the first live eFootball event by EEF but also because of the amazing plays and special moments our players created. I’d like to thank the Montenegro Esports Federation and all of the partners for making this event possible, and looking forward to our announcement of the 2023 European Esports Championships.”
IESF’s next regional qualifier will be PUBG European Championship happening online on September 18, followed by Dota 2 the following weekend from 23 to 25 of the same month. In October Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will be played online for the European Title, and the winners of all tournaments will head on to the next stage of the World Esport Championships in Bali this December.
The WE Championships regional qualifiers will continue in the fall with the Panam, Asian and African Championships. The world’s greatest Esports players will then face off at the 2022 edition of the WE Championships Finals in Bali, Indonesia from December 1 to 12.
