New monetisation mechanics have been added to lots of games, and September was a particularly busy month for new battle passes. This may be a result of Apple increasing its App Store prices in Europe and parts of Asia.

Diablo Immortal’s latest update provides new ways for free players to earn weapons that were previously paywalled as post-game content .

League of Legends: Wild Rift added a new 1v1 PvP mode alongside monetised gachas to the US and China versions of the game, causing a spike in revenue by almost 10x.

A worldwide celebration event for Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle pushed the game to the very top of the top-grossing iOS chart in Japan and the US.
