Crypto Gambling Pioneer Maverick Games Makes Major Hires
Isle of Man-licensed operator welcomes Dan Kent, Danny Carrington and Ruairi Daly to its senior team
Maverick Games, the next-generation crypto sportsbook and casino that puts player safety and security first, has strengthened its senior management team with three big hires as the business continues to grow at speed. The Isle of Man-licensed operator has welcomed Dan Kent as Director of Poker, Danny Carrington as Marketing Director and Ruairi Daly as Marketing Manager.
Kent has worked in the iGaming sector for more than twelve years, holding senior roles at two of the largest online poker brands in the world. He is trusted by the poker-player community and will be responsible for ensuring Maverick Gamesâ poker offering not only meets but exceeds expectations.
âMy main objective is to bring in a steady stream of players while offering some of the most competitive rewards in the industry,â a statement from Kent read. âWe want to offer a safe and fun place to come and enjoy playing online poker and, as always, I will advocate for the player by taking their feedback and implementing it into the Maverick Games experience where possible. We really have put a lot of focus into our customer experience and service and want players to know they will be well looked after when playing with us.â
Carrington is a marketing veteran having worked for power player operators such as Entain, Rank Group and William Hill over a stellar seven-year career. At Maverick Games, he has been tasked with scaling the marketing team and supporting the wider business and brand. This includes exploring new markets, driving customer acquisition and boosting retention.
âWe are at the start of such an adventure with new markets, products, features and experiences on the horizon,â read a statement from Carrington. âI have been hugely impressed with the hunger and desire within the business to really change the game and how the entire team is working together to do this. Maverick Games really does stand out from the crowd and I am proud to be joining the operator as it continues to blaze its own path.â
Daly joins Maverick Games from a stint in North America where he has been helping drive awareness of a major brand. Prior to that, he worked for William Hill. At Maverick Games, he will assist Carrington in scaling the marketing department and acquiring and retaining customers at scale.
âBeing a maverick is all about doing things differently and this is certainly something that resonates with me in my personal life,â said Daly. âWith the foundations already laid, the sky really is the limit when it comes to Maverick Games providing players with the safety and security they need to enjoy a fully licensed crypto gambling experience.â
Maverick Games allows players to blaze their own path and is pushing boundaries when it comes to crypto sports betting and casino. It is fully licensed by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission and has held its license since 2018.
âIâm so excited for the next phase of the Maverick brand, including the launch of poker, securing additional licenses and evolving the experience we offer to players,â the Managing Director for Maverick Games, Kendra Ross, said. âEvery decision we make is about how we can best serve our players and especially providing them with a safe place to gamble so they can focus on having fun. Bringing on Dan, Danny and Ruairi will certainly help drive us towards that goal. Their wealth of experience when it comes to creating unrivalled player experiences at some of the biggest brands in the business is a huge asset for us and our customers.â

ECA and AGEM applaud creation of Association Assembly at ICE Barcelona
The news that Januaryâs ICE Barcelona will include a major new feature dedicated to global gamingâs most influential trade associations has been welcomed by organisations in Europe and abroad.
Making full use of the additional space at the Gran Via Fira de Barcelona, the first ICE Association Assembly has been created to enable trade bodies to promote their values and create new opportunities for the gaming community across every sector and geography, including both the Brussels-based European Casino Association (ECA) and the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), the global trade association for gaming equipment suppliers with its primary headquarters in Las Vegas.
Erwin Van Lambaart, Chair of the ECA confirmed: âOur members are already planning their week in Barcelona and they will be at this historic edition of ICE in great numbers. ICE is a pivotal event for the global gaming community and having a show floor feature which will enable us to engage directly with all sectors is a unique opportunity.
“Traditionally, our association’s involvement at ICE and its Conference program has primarily centred around networking and product development orientationâconnecting with our members, regulators, suppliers, and fellow trade bodies. However, ICE 2025 marks a significant milestone. For the first time, the ECA will have the chance to fully interface with the global industry supply chain in its entirety. We are looking forward to this unique opportunity to articulate our vision for the future to a diverse and comprehensive audience, where innovation, responsibility and significant partnerships for guest and customer centricity will have centre stage.”
Daron Dorsey, CEO of AGEM added: âWe represent the interests of our gaming suppliers whose well-known brands are global in reach, so to be given the opportunity to explain our agenda and engage with what is a truly international audience of association colleagues on the ICE show floor is invaluable.â
Januaryâs editions of ICE and iGB Affiliate will occupy 120,000sqm of space compared to the 100,00sqm at ICE 2024. In a major endorsement of the opportunities offered by the relocation to Barcelona 72% of the 25 biggest exhibitors will have an increased stand presence at ICE 2025.
