PUBG MOBILE WORLD INVITATIONAL (PMWI) FORMAT AND SLOTS REVEALED
PUBG MOBILE has officially shared all the details fans and players need to know for the upcoming PUBG MOBILE World Invitational (PMWI), powered by Gamers8, the world’s largest gaming and esports festival. 18 teams will take to the first stage of the tournament, the PMWI Allstars Stage, from July 11th – July 13th, with selection determined by fan votes and a few direct invites. Then, from July 14th – 16th, the PMWI Main Tournament will commence, with 16 teams taking part–those who qualified from their respective regional championships, the top 5 PMWI Allstars Stage teams, alongside some teams who are directly invited. With a total prize pool of $3,000,000 the PUBG MOBILE World Invitational (PMWI) won’t be one to miss!
The action for this year’s PMWI will kick off on July 11th, with the PMWI Allstars Stage putting 18 of the most popular teams in the world against each other in three days of intense competition. To qualify, 14 teams will be selected through the PMWI Allstars Vote, taking place in-game from May 26th to May 30th, with more info to be shared soon! Each of these squads will be joined by four teams specially invited by PUBG MOBILE, one from South Korea, one from Japan, one from KSA and one special invite. Alongside competing for pride, the top five teams from the Allstars Stage will also qualify for the next phase of the PMWI, the Main Tournament.
Running from July 14th – July 16th, the PMWI Main Tournament will see each of the four PMPL regional champions and top two PMSL SEA teams battle against the top five PMWI Allstars teams, as well as invites from China (Top two teams from 2023 PEL Spring), Japan/South Korea (as a result of the PUBG Mobile Showdown 2023: Korea vs Japan), Saudi Esports League Champion Twisted Minds and one special invite–for a total of 16 teams participating. In what will be a thrilling summer competition between the most successful and most popular teams in PUBG MOBILE Esports, each squad will fight to be crowned PMWI Champion and earn the largest share of the $3,000,000 prize pool.
This year’s PMWI is powered by Gamers8. Located in Riyadh and the world’s largest esports and gaming festival, Gamers8 spans a total of eight weeks from July to September 2023. The festival has a total prize pool of $45,000,000, is played across 11+ titles and 300+ tournaments, and will bring with it performances by global music artists, along with exciting experiences from fan favourite esports teams.
