Thunderpick, the leading online crypto betting platform made by esports fans for esports fans, today announced the Thunderpick CS:GO World Championship 2023 – a professional CS:GO tournament with a record-setting sportsbook prize pool – will commence on July 10, 2023 with the first North America qualifier event.
Building on the successful 2022 CS:GO tournament series, Thunderpick has once again established a series of top tier CS:GO competitions bringing together the best teams in the world to compete for a record-breaking Bitcoin guaranteed prize pool totaling $600,000 USD.
This prize pool is the largest provided by a betting platform in esports to date, and includes $100,000 split between 4 qualifiers, and $500,000 being awarded across the grand final tournament. The total prize pool of $600,000 equivalent in Bitcoin is guaranteed.
“We are thrilled to bring the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 to the professional CS:GO scene. This exceptional competition will feature some of the world’s best esports talent competing for a record-setting prize pool of $600,000 in guaranteed Bitcoin. We take great pride in supporting and growing esports and the players’ opportunities with this tournament, which will surely be an epic experience that players, fans, and our users will remember for a long time to come.” – Kelly Sanders, Head of Strategy for Thunderpick.
Set to take place in November 2023, the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 grand final will include eight invited teams (16 total) from around the world, including Evil Geniuses and more top tier esports teams. The remaining 8 spots will be filled through the four qualifier competitions, two for North American teams and two for European teams.
The North American teams participating in the grand finals will conduct their practices in a Thunderpick-sponsored European bootcamp facility to ensure proper resources are available for all teams to participate in the tournament. All qualifying competitions will be held remotely in their respective regions.
Thunderpick has selected GRID as its official esports services provider and data partner for the event. GRID provides Thunderpick with Esports Solutions, a complete technology and service toolkit consisting of tournament tooling, visualization products, and data infrastructure that supports the operation, integrity, security, and monetization of events available on the GRID Data Platform.
“We are always intrigued by industry-driving initiatives like the concept of Thunderpick World Championship 2023.
