ComplianceOne Group joins Netherlands Online Gambling Association
ComplianceOne Group has become a member of the Netherlands Online Gambling Association (NOGA), in a move that underlines the compliance provider’s commitment to the Dutch market.
NOGA represents the interests of the online gambling industry in the Netherlands, bringing together regulated operators, suppliers and other stakeholders to create an attractive and safe market in the country. It counts the likes of Flutter, Entain, Kindred Group and bet365 among its members.
Compliance One Group opened a dedicated Dutch office in January 2022, and has quickly become the compliance supplier of choice for both operators and providers looking to expand into the country. Last year, its regulatory and operational compliance firm Diligence in Gaming agreed a wide-ranging partnership that saw it help operator Smart Gaming launch its betnation.nl brand.
Mike de Graaff, Head of Regulatory Services & Assurance at Diligence in Gaming – a ComplianceOne Group company, said: “Joining the Netherlands Online Gambling Association is an important milestone for ComplianceOne Group as we look to further support our partners in the Netherlands. With the Dutch regulatory landscape continuing to evolve, membership of NOGA helps us better serve the operators and suppliers finding exciting new opportunities in the market.”
Peter-Paul de Goeij, Managing Director at NOGA, said: “Building a thriving, safe and sustainable Dutch online gambling market requires world-class compliance know-how, so I’m thrilled to welcome ComplianceOne Group to NOGA. The Group’s expertise across both regulatory and technical compliance will be an important asset for our members.”
Earlier this year, de Graaff warned of the challenges facing operators following the Dutch Gaming Authority’s update on its ongoing investigation into the duty of care operators provide to players.
“Having worked with many licensed operators in the Netherlands since the framework went live in October 2021, the message I most often repeat is a simple one: treating regulation as a box ticking exercise won’t cut it,” he said at the time.
