Rank Renews its Partnership with Carers Trust
Rank has announced that it has extended its partnership with Carers Trust into 2024, marking the tenth year of fundraising to support unpaid carers across the UK.
The partnership, which hits its 10-year milestone on 14 February 2024, has raised almost £3.5m in total and supported more than 13,600 carers so far. The money raised helps unpaid carers in several significant ways:
- Carers Trust spends the money to provide grants for carers enabling them buy otherwise unaffordable household items like fridges, washing machines and laptops. These are essential purchases which help carers continue often round the clock care.
- It also pays for desperately needed breaks from their caring role, allowing them to relax away from the household chores with the cared for person, or to get away solo for some much-needed respite.
Rank’s chief executive, John O’Reilly, said: “Rank is incredibly proud of its charity partnership with Carers Trust. Over the past nine years our colleagues and customers have wholeheartedly supported the charity and our fundraising journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. As we near our ten-year anniversary, we have set our sights on an ambitious fundraising target of £3.5 million. Although it may seem like a daunting goal, I am sure we can achieve this given the unwavering support we continue to receive from customers and colleagues.”
Svetlana Kirov, Carers Trust’s Director of Fundraising, said: “We’re thrilled that Rank is extending their partnership with us into a landmark 10th year. Over the past decade, thousands of unpaid carers have benefited from Rank’s grants programme, helping them through incredibly challenging times. This just wouldn’t have been possible without the enthusiasm and tireless support of staff and customers at Rank, Grosvenor Casinos, and Mecca Bingo. Carers Trust, our network of local carer organisations and unpaid carers across the UK are incredibly grateful.”
