The story of the last ever CS:GO Major showcased in BLAST’s ‘Live to Win’ documentary

BLAST has unveiled “Live to Win”, the micro-documentary showcasing the story of the last ever CS:GO Major, the BLAST.tv Paris Major.
May’s Paris Major would be the last time Counter-Strike fans would see a CS:GO Major and simultaneously the first time BLAST would host a Major, and to celebrate such a historic moment for esports, BLAST is releasing a documentary to immortalise the spectacle of the last ever CS:GO Major.
With more than 1.5 million online viewers tuning into the grand final and filling the Accor Arena creating the biggest esports event in France’s history, ‘Live to Win’ will spotlight and unearth the players’ stories of the last ever CS:GO Major. From the underdog run of Into The Breach to the audience entertainers Cadian and Heroic as well as the home crowd heroes and champions Team Vitality, this 30+ minute documentary will convey all the turmoil, tribulation and rapture of the magical two weeks in Paris.
Across the Paris Major, BLAST.tv has featured exclusive content, including “Making it Major”, which showcased the behind-the-scenes work that goes into hosting a Major level event, followed by “A Major History” which delves into the journey Counter-Strike Majors have been on in the last 10 years.
Alison Severs-Ruiz, Content Director for BLAST, said: “Putting fans at the heart of our events has been a key focus for BLAST since day one and ‘Live to Win’ will give fans an exclusive look behind the curtain at the players’ stories. Filmed in three different countries with a dedicated intricate crew throughout, the finished film conveys emotions and backstories for the players that gave the CS:GO Major cycle a lights-out and poignant conclusion.”
Speaking within the documentary is the captain of champions Vitality, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire. “People have no idea. They think about the money, travelling, playing. They see only the bright side of it and it is a bright side, I love it! You don’t play 12 years at the top for the money, no way. No one can do that because it requires way more. Your energy, your sacrifice, I’m giving everything. I will never complain about my life, I love my life, but it’s not that easy.”
