Gaming Realms revolutionises an arcade classic with Slingo SPACE INVADERS
Gaming Realms, a leading provider of mobile-focused gaming content, has transformed the retro fun of an arcade classic with the release of its highly anticipated title Slingo SPACE INVADERS officially licensed by TAITO.
In the game, random numbers are placed across a 5×5 grid, with the player receiving 12 spins to mark these by drawing them on the bottom reel. Each line of marked numbers created awards a Slingo.
Wilds and Super Wilds can also be landed on this reel which empowers players to choose which number to mark next, creating dynamic strategic elements to this action-packed release. Additionally, a Cannon symbol can fall and will fire at a UFO, awarding an instant cash prize or an extra life in the bonus game if hit.
Each Slingo created in the base game will progress players up an incrementally increasing prize ladder with at least four Slingos needed to enter the bonus. Continuing to climb the prize ladder will grant additional lives in the bonus and a multiplier of up to 50x.
In the free spins round, the Invaders will move from left to right and down and upon reaching the bottom of the gameboard players will lose a life. However, landing Cannons on the bottom reel will shoot back at the Invaders with each Invader destroyed granting a cash prize. Bunkers can also appear on the reels which will absorb shots fired by Cannons.
Blending the retro iconography, sound design and gameplay popularised by SPACE INVADERS with Gaming Realms’ synonymous Slingo mechanic delivers a fresh take on the arcade classic and follows other notable hits from the provider such as Slingo Cosmic Clusters, Slingo Piggy Bank and Slingo Money Train.
Gareth Scott, Chief Commercial Officer at Gaming Realms, said: “We are thrilled to be working with the TAITO corporation to deliver Slingo SPACE INVADERS, a slot that adheres to many of the concepts people will expect from creating a title with such famous origins whilst delivering new mechanics through the Slingo feature.
“Players will be climbing a pay ladder and increasing the win potential available within the bonus round whilst doing so, providing an escalation of excitement throughout the base game. In the bonus, we have utilised the popular gameplay of SPACE INVADERS but reimagined how players will be battling the UFOs, aligning the retro entertainment experience with a new medium.”
