Real Dealer Teleports to the 1980s in Latest Hi-Lo Release

The cinematic games producer has expanded its Card Chase series with an up-tempo title inspired by the golden age of video games.

Real Dealer Studios has added a touch of 1980s nostalgia to its cinematic table games portfolio with today’s launch of Rapid Card Chase, a hi-lo title set in a retro arcade environment.

The release is the second in the studio’s relatively new series of hi-lo games, which premiered in July with Vinnie Jones Card Chase, a gameshow-style production hosted by the famously bombastic footballer-turned-actor. The newer title is based on the same attractive game mechanics, most notably the guaranteed random multiplier – up to 200x — that appears every 15^th round. Instead of the celebrity show host, however, this edition offers a faster pace and places more emphasis on its rich aesthetic.

Loaded with pink neon and old-school, 16-bit graphics, the game’s design is an homage to the cherished video game classics of times past. Pulsing 80s beats and flashy, sci-fi surroundings complete the immersive experience.

Rapid Card Chase’s deliberately low-grade graphical elements are set against a visual environment that’s, by contrast, far more realistic compared with current industry standards.

This look was achieved through Cinematic RNG, an innovative process created by Real Dealer that closely mirrors Hollywood filmmaking. The work starts with what’s essentially a film production, in this case creating scenes using the same kind of next-generation effects used in blockbuster films. The polished footage is then integrated into a random number generator-based game framework, with the resulting titles representing a leap forward in quality and realism in the RNG games sphere.

“Any addition to our Card Chase hi-lo series would be a strong contender based on its mechanics alone, particularly those multiplier rounds that are proving to be such a hit. For this game, we settled on an 80s arcade concept and told our design and video team to just run with it. What they came up with isn’t just visually stunning, it’s hugely entertaining and players are going to love it,” said Shane Cotter, Chief Product Officer at Real Dealer Studios.
