Skyesports Grand Slam 2024: Pune Plays Host To Tournament, All-Female Luna Showmatch, and Historic India-Indonesia Esports Diplomatic Showdown
Skyesports, India’s leading esports tournament organizer, is set to wrap up the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024, an international Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament, with the Playoffs in Pune from March 14 to 16. Four teams – one each from Russia, Indonesia, India, and Australia – are competing for the title and the $50,000 prize pool.
The event is set to take place at the 6th India Gaming Show 2024, an international gaming, animation, and infotainment event being organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) from March 14 to 16 in Pune, India.
Furthermore, the event is set to feature a historical esports diplomatic showmatch between India and Indonesia. With the two countries marking 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2024, The Indonesian Embassy of New Delhi has tied up with Skyesports for the showmatch. As a part of this, the Indian champion will be up against the Indonesian team to fight for the title while showcasing the unique opportunity for both countries to promote their gaming industries and explore avenues for further collaboration.
Lastly, the Skyesports Grand Slam will also be hosting a ‘Luna’
Showmatch. This all-female esports tournament will have 10 of India’s top female gaming stars fighting it out in Counter-Strike 2 while promoting inclusivity and providing inspiration to the next generation of women gamers.
The Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 will feature the following teams in the main event:
● Aurora Gaming: Russia
● Garuda Wisnu Voyage: Indonesia
● Gods Reign: India
● Bad News Kangaroo: Australia
The teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket to fight it out for the championship title and the lion’s share of the $50,000 prize pool.
The Skyesports Grand Slam is the first tournament for Counter-Strike 2 in Skyesports’ 2024 esports roadmap for the title. Following this, the company is set to host the Skyesports Masters 2024, a $350,000 tournament in India with teams from Europe and India.
