Skyesports Announces India Gaming Show 2024 to Celebrate 75 Years of Diplomatic Ties with Indonesia, All You Need to Know
Both nations will bring forth their top Counter Strike 2 teams.
Gaming in India has been growing faster than ever, so much so that it is now being used to celebrate the country’s diplomatic ties with other nations. India and Indonesia recently completed 75 years of diplomatic ties and to commemorate this momentous occasion, Skyesports has collaborated with the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi to host an esports competition between the two nations.
This will take place at the 6th India Gaming Show 2024, which is set to take place between March 14 to March 16 in Pune, India. This event has been organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry and it will feature gaming, animation and infotainment. The esports battle between the two will take place at the Skyesports Grand Slam. It will feature the top Counter Strike 2 teams from both nations in an epic exhibition match.
Other than the exhibition match between the two countries at Skyesports Grand Slam, we will also see other nations take part in this competition, these will include one team from India, one team from Australia and two from the European region. A report by Niko Partners on the Asia Games Market reveals that there are more than 180 million gamers in Indonesia and India has more than 421 million of them, with all of them being in the 16-64 age group. This event will hopefully bring gaming and esports to an even wider audience in both nations.
Here’s what Shiva Nandy, the Founder and CEO of Skyesports shared on the occasion:
“We are thrilled to be hosting the India – Indonesia showmatch at the India Gaming Show 2024 in Pune as a part of our Skyesports Grand Slam IP. As the esports industry continues to soar globally, this collaborative initiative between Skyesports and The Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi not only celebrates the longstanding diplomatic ties between India and Indonesia but also underscores the immense potential of esports as a platform for cultural exchange and international cooperation. This showmatch exemplifies how gaming transcends boundaries, bringing together diverse communities in friendly competition, and signifies a significant milestone in the evolution of esports on the world stage.”
Check out what a representative from the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi shared below:
“We highly appreciate the collaboration between The Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi with Skyesports in the Skyesports Grand Slam, as this is also a great opportunity to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and India by doing people-to-people contact activities. Various activities have been planned, such as an exhibition game between both teams from Indonesia and India, a panel discussion with stakeholders from both countries as speakers, and promoting Indonesia local games through Indonesia Pavillion at the Exhibition that show potentials for the Indian market.”
