Reading Time: 3 minutes

SBC Summit is set to provide attendees with the opportunity to engage in masterclasses and earn a certification at no cost, strengthening the event’s conference program for maximum attendee benefit.

The Masterclasses will be held at the Academy & Live Training area (C192), near the Global Markets Lounge between entrances 2 and 3, and will run from 24-26 September at Feira Internacional de Lisboa.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC said: “This is an excellent chance for our attendees to make the most of their time at the show. Masterclasses of this calibre usually come at a significant cost, often over €1,000, so I strongly recommend anyone interested in these topics to consider joining us.”

The following three Masterclasses have already been confirmed:

Masterclass with Sportsbook Training Services

The masterclass will feature Jonathan Smith, the founder of Sportsbook Training Services, who has over 25 years of experience in the betting industry. Smith has held various odds-compiling roles for major fixed odds and spread betting firms in the UK.

On Tuesday, attendees will delve into the Introduction to Odds Compiling & Sports Modelling Techniques. During this session, they will learn the core principles, including the mathematical theories and statistical models behind odds compiling. The session will explore where prices originate, both in theory and practice, how data suppliers create odds, and what exactly you are purchasing from them. Additionally, attendees will learn strategies to predict sports outcomes with greater accuracy.

On Wednesday, a Practical Demonstration centred on an English Premier League Match will guide attendees through pricing a football match, creating core markets, and developing bookings and corner markets, while also understanding how these markets integrate into BetBuilders.

Understanding Electronic Gaming Management

Led by Lucien (Lucas) Wijsman, renowned for his role at The Slot Academy (now the Electronic Gaming Academy). Wijsman has extensive experience advising land-based casino operators across Europe and other regions worldwide.

On Tuesday, the Electronic Gaming Player Expectations and Motivations session will focus on identifying and categorising casino visitor profiles to inform effective marketing strategies, as understanding their varied expectations and motivations is key to defining product mix and pricing.

Wednesday’s session, Product and Price Considerations, will examine how minimum and maximum bet settings on slot machines affect earning potential.

The final session on Thursday, Bet Based Promotions on Electronic Gaming Machines, will explore game configurations and concepts, analysing what makes games appealing to specific player categories, with a focus on RTP, game duration, and volatility.

Counterterrorism, Crisis Response & Cybersecurity Masterclass

Conducted by Noel G. Whelan, who has a 30-year career spanning military and counter-terrorism environments. Whelan holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counter-Terrorism and Security from Leeds University.

On Tuesday, the Surviving the Corporate Red 10 session will offer a simulated crisis experience, enhancing leadership and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations. Key takeaways include strategy creation, crisis response methods, leadership techniques, advanced public speaking, and establishing an emergency chain of command.

Wednesday’s session, Deterrence Against Terrorism & Money Laundering, will focus on understanding the risks non-state actors pose to the digital economy and developing strategies to safeguard against exploitation.

On Thursday, the Avoiding the Victim State session will address defending against cyber attacks, highlighting risk identification, and internal vulnerabilities, and creating tailored strategies to protect company assets and reputation.

“We’ve made sure that participants will walk away with certification, and by including subjects like sports betting, casino management, and cybersecurity, we’re truly addressing a wide range of interests,” Sojmark added.

Oddsgate highlights success in data management for robust iGaming operations

Published

on

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Oddsgate, a leading B2B iGaming platform, has shown the importance of careful planning through its expansion initiatives. The company is now highlighting another crucial element of its strategy: effective data management. This has been vital in reducing failures, risks, and losses in the large-scale operations it supports.

A well-structured data architecture is essential for sustaining large-scale operations like Oddsgate’s. The company has invested significantly in its technical team to ensure effective data management. Thanks to its extensive industry expertise, Oddsgate can swiftly and efficiently address complex challenges, demonstrating its ability to adapt and drive continuous innovation.

With cutting-edge technology and solid strategic management positions, Oddsgate is a trusted partner, offering a key differentiator: specialized business consulting services that enhance its clients’ operational success.

Among the most critical aspects of large-scale operations are managing high access volumes and conducting continuous reviews to ensure an excellent user experience, even during peak traffic.

Oddsgate understands the importance of mobile usability and believes that betting success depends on having an intuitive, user-friendly front end and a highly functional back end system.

The platform’s architecture is designed to create a more convenient, instinctive, and enjoyable betting environment with integrated gaming, payment systems, and affiliate networks. The platform offers a visually appealing interface that loads quickly and engages users.

Critical functions such as processing large volumes of data, including player statistics and team performance data collected from online sports sources, are efficiently managed on the back end.

The ability to provide real-time updates allows players to place bets based on the latest information. At the same time, the robust infrastructure ensures stability even in scenarios of high unpredictability in data traffic – one of the primary causes of platform failures.

Challenges of Unexpected Traffic and Scalability

Tiago Almeida, CEO of Oddsgate, emphasizes the importance of being prepared for unexpected challenges: “Influencers and affiliates often fail to launch campaigns as planned, resulting in unexpected spikes in website traffic.

For instance, a campaign expected to generate 10,000 hits in a day might occur the following day instead, catching them off guard. Additionally, CRM campaigns can also drive traffic at unforeseen times.”

He adds: “These sudden surges in requests can happen anytime, requiring an elastic infrastructure capable of scaling with demand. However, ensuring this is challenging due to latency, especially when servers are far from end users, such as outside Brazil. When multiplied by thousands of simultaneous users, latency can overload the system. The ideal solution is a self-scaling data architecture that prevents issues before support is needed. That’s our focus.”

Continuous Growth and Solid Results

Oddsgate remains confident in its performance, and the CEO emphasizes the company’s continuous growth potential: “In large-scale operations, we ensure system integrity, providing secure payment gateways, safeguarding user account and protecting financial data. Our numbers demonstrate our capability to meet these demands.”

In a recent report, the company highlighted its key results from August:

  • Monthly business volume among partners exceeded €1.3 billion;
  • Over 5 billion bets were processed in a single month;
  • 2.3 million active players with a stable infrastructure and no latency;
  • More than 24 million deposits and 6 million withdrawals were processed;
  • Achieved 99.99% uptime for partner sites and the game integration layer.

These results demonstrate Oddsgate’s readiness to take on new, complex, and large-scale operations, further solidifying its leadership position in the market and expanding into new territories that demand even greater attention to data management and operational efficiency.
