Malta’s National Lottery Supports the National Blood Transfusion Service

National Lottery plc has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility through two impactful initiatives in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS). These efforts reflect the company’s dedication to promoting health, community engagement and sustainability.
On 2nd October, National Lottery employees united to support the NBTS by donating blood at the National Blood Donation Centre in Pieta. The initiative comes at a time when the NBTS has issued urgent claims requesting blood donations due to the current low blood supply.
“We are very happy that our call for blood donation amongst our Group employees had such a positive response. We are proud of our employees’ enthusiasm and dedication to join this initiative with the aim to support the NBTS. Blood donation is a life-saving act, and we believe our collective effort can make a significant impact,” said Miriam Cardona, Human Resources Manager at IZI Group.
In addition to the blood drive, National Lottery further extended its support to the NBTS by sponsoring the purchase of environmentally friendly power banks. These devices were distributed to students at the University of Malta during Freshers’ Week. Students who registered as blood donors received a power bank as a gesture of appreciation and as a reminder of the importance of regular blood donation. The NBTS calls for more donors to step up to support their initiatives for blood donations.
