BETER reports on significant demand for its eFootball content during major football events
BETER, the in-demand provider of betting content and data, has published a report showing a major change in player preferences towards round-the-clock, fast betting content.
The report, Betting on eFootball during Euro and Copa America 2024, shows a surge in demand for, and engagement with, the providerâs ESportsBattle eFootball product during both tournaments.
During Euro 2024 and Copa America, bettors displayed a heightened interest in its eFootball offering with the number of unique bettors up 11.4%, the number of bets up 12.8% and turnover up 13.4% across all operator partners` platforms, which offer ESportsBattle content.
Demand for eFootball peaked at the conclusion of Euro 2024 and Copa America which took place on 14 July in a âSuper Sundayâ of football.
In the days following (15 July and 16 July) when no matches were played, BETER recorded the highest levels of engagement with, and turnover from, eFootball.
This followed a similar trend throughout Euro 2024 where engagement with eFootball would spike on the days when no matches took place.
On days when matches did take place, the number of bets and the average turnover on eFootball increased across all timeslots, with the greatest growth seen during the evening right after matches concluded.
For example, from 10pm to 11pm, average turnover increased by a massive 23% and remained at an elevated level for several hours after.
In terms of the bet types placed, the most popular bet types were Totals (55% of betting volume), Result Three Way (23%) and Next Goal (9%) which was up by more than 20%.
BETERâs eFootball product includes three formats, the fast-paced and spectacular Volta (which lasts six minutes in total) plus the more traditional 2×4 and 2×6 minute formats.
During the period analysed in the report, the 2×4 format remained the most in-demand format with an average turnover up 14.7%, followed by 2×6 which enjoyed 15.2% growth â Volta also enjoyed a 9.4% increase in the number of bets and turnover.
The report supports the shift towards fast betting content that operators are seeing. In addition, players also want to access sports and betting opportunities round the clock, especially when thereâs no on-the-pitch action taking place, which products such as BETERâs eFootball provide.
ESportsBattle tournaments set the benchmark for esports betting, offering more than 35,000 events per month across popular disciplines such as eFootball, eBasketball, eHockey, and CS2, with up to 50 markets per event. Live streaming is available 24/7/365 so that bettors can enjoy non-stop action with a 7.5%+ average margin for operators.
George Arabatlian, Head of Account Management at BETER, said:
âThis report underscores a significant shift in player behavior: bettors are eager to engage with football-related content, even in the absence of live matches. This is where our 24/7 eFootball product truly shines, providing continuous entertainment and wagering opportunities.
âThe data also highlights a growing trend toward fast, dynamic betting experiences, which resolve quickly and keep players engaged.
BETER has become a leader in delivering this type of content, and we are excited to partner with more operators to provide their players with round-the-clock access to our cutting-edge ESportsBattle tournaments.”

BLAST & Solihull Council announces major esports event to take place in the UK next year
Solihull Council is pleased to announce a major esports event taking place in Solihull from 27 to 30 March 2025 at bp pulse LIVE.
The 2025 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Season will host its first arena event of the year in Solihull, with thousands of fans expected to attend.
Esports (or electronic sports) is a term used to describe competitive video gaming. Itâs different from standard video gaming in that esports is competitive (player-vs-player) and usually has an engaging spectator element to it, like traditional sports. Rocket League is a sport-based video game (also known as football with rocket-powered cars that fly!).
The event â RLCS Major 1 Birmingham â will have national and international significance, welcoming some of the worldâs best Rocket League players to Solihull and the wider region. 16 teams from around the world will compete for the first trophy of the RLCS 2025 Season in front of a live audience on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March. Tickets will go on sale via Live Nation from next week.
A few weeks before the main event, members of the public will be invited to take part in an action-packed tournament, the âBritish Esports Cupâ featuring Rocket League. The British Cup tournament, led by the British Esports Federation, will be open to all UK residents aged 13+ and offer a prize pool of ÂŁ5,000.
A business esports summit (WM Esports Unwrapped) is also planned for the event weekend, which will be a chance for key business and industry leaders to network and identify future growth opportunities.
Councillor Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull Council and Lead Member for Business and the Economy commented: âEsports may be a new concept for many of us, but itâs fast becoming an industry of huge economic significance. We are absolutely thrilled to welcome the RLCS Major 1 Birmingham to our borough, in partnership with the British Esports Federation and BLAST.
âIt is expected to attract thousands of fans from across the world to the arena, with millions more watching the global broadcast online. The economic benefit to the hospitality and visitor economy in the region is unrivalled with the majority of fans expected to attend the event from out of the area.
âThe event will put our borough on the world stage and promote Solihull, the West Midlands and the NEC event campus as a national and international hub for gaming and esports championships.â
Chester King, President of British Esports said: âHosting the RLCS Major 1 in Birmingham is a landmark moment for UK esports, and weâre thrilled to see another world-class event hosted in Great Britain.
âBritish Esports is proud to support the UK esports scene with our own Rocket League tournament running alongside the Major, providing a platform for aspiring players across the UK to showcase their talent. This collaboration underlines the strength of the UKâs esports ecosystem and British Esportsâ ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for grassroots players to engage with professional esports athletes.â
People visiting the borough for the event are encouraged to check out the Visit Solihull website for information on where to eat, drink and stay in the borough.
The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and the UK Government is supporting the organisers of the event with funding from the Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund. This is being used to boost trade and tourism sectors and bring vital footfall to local businesses in the region.
Solihull Council is working in partnership with BLAST, British Esports Federation, NEC Group, West Midlands Growth Company and the University of Warwick.
In 2023, the UK was placed fifth in the world for esports revenue generation. Esports is growing at a rate of 13.8% a year. The video game market is worth an estimated $282 billion and there are approximately 3 billion active gamers worldwide.
