Theresa Risby, Bacta’s Membership Co-ordinator, has welcomed the latest batch of new members whose applications to join the leading trade association representing the land-based gaming and amusement industry were ratified at the recent National Council meeting.
Speaking at the ribbon cutting ceremony Iain McNicol who served as General Secretary of the Labour Party from 2011 to 2018 said: “I’m delighted to be here today representing the Labour Party’s Shadow
Business Team – to open the EAG and mark Bacta’s 50th anniversary.
“If the Labour Party is privileged to form the next Government – and we take nothing for granted – we take seriously the need to reinvigorate our high streets, our pubs and our coastal towns.
And that was why I was so keen to attend today.
I recognize the vital role all of you play in doing just that.”
He added “For decades Bacta members have been the lifeblood of our communities delivering entertainment and fun for many.
“I grew up just a few miles from the Scottish town of Largs. I know myself how important your members are to that town’s future economic prospects.”
“Our communities need your businesses to flourish and a future Labour Government is determined to create the economic conditions to allow you to do just that.
“I’m looking forward to touring the stands to see for myself the new products that will be brought to market to help your sector go from strength to strength.
“I also want to say a huge congratulations to Bacta on its golden anniversary. May you continue to flourish in the next 50 years.
“I now take great pleasure in declaring the EAG Expo open.”
The 4,000+ operators expected to attend the 2024 edition of EAG have the perfect opportunity to access over 3,000 products of which 1,038 are making their UK industry debut at EAG.
