MY.GAMES DIVES INTO ALTERNATIVE DISTRIBUTION WITH APTOIDE
Aptoide, the original independent app store on Android and iOS, today announces strategic partnerships with MY.GAMES, a leading European developer and publisher, which will see some of the world’s best-loved mobile games join Aptoide’s Android store.
In bringing their games to Aptoide, MY.GAMES will access a large, engaged audience of new users in Europe, the US and across the globe. Aptoide is the longest-standing alternative app store with more than 50 million monthly active users. In 2024, the company made history by launching the first ever third-party storefront on iOS.
Founded in 2011, Aptoide has led the charge in alternative distribution for more than a decade, and brought the first ever successful antitrust challenge against Google in 2018. Since then, a wave of legislation including the European Union’s Digital Markets Act has opened up the distribution ecosystem further and raised awareness of alternative channels among game developers and publishers.
Paulo Trezentos, CEO of Aptoide, said:
“This is a significant moment for Aptoide, and for the unstoppable rise of a fairer distribution landscape for publishers and users alike. By bringing these chart-topping games to Aptoide, we are continuing our commitment to giving our users access to the best mobile gaming content available. We’re pleased that one of the leading brands in mobile gaming, MY.GAMES, has chosen Aptoide as a partner in their quest for new users, new revenue streams, and greater control over the distribution of their IPs.”
The new partnerships represent the first time MY.GAMES has distributed a game in an app store not owned by a major hardware manufacturer, representing a significant milestone in the rise of independent distribution ecosystems. The new titles coming to Aptoide are as follows:
MY.GAMES:
-
Rush Royale, a fast paced real time strategy game, that has garnered over 90 million lifetime installs, with lifetime revenue of $370 million to date.
-
Additionally, the action-packed survival shooter Left to Survive has exceeded over 70 million lifetime installs, with lifetime revenue of $140 million.
Elena Grigorian, CEO of MY.GAMES, commented:
“At MY.GAMES, we are always looking for innovative ways to bring our games to new audiences. Partnering with Aptoide enables us to tap into a large, global user base while exploring alternative distribution channels that align with our mission of delivering high quality, engaging games to players, everywhere. We are confident that this partnership will bring great value to both our players and developers.”
