BLAST is hosting six esports events in North America in 2025/26 including the BLAST.tv Austin Major in June, which is slated to bring in over $30 million in economic impact

BLAST, the leading esports entertainment company, announces its new expansion with the opening of its first U.S. office in New York City. The move marks a major milestone and significant step in the company’s North American expansion strategy and underscores its commitment to growing the esports ecosystem across the U.S.

BLAST, founded in 2016, is a global esports entertainment company best known for creating premium live and digital experiences. The company has quickly become one of the most innovative forces in esports, with partnerships spanning from major game publishers like Epic Games, Valve, Riot and Ubisoft to global brands like Progressive, NASCAR, Netflix, Ally Bank, Magnum, TikTok and Nike. In addition to their live events that draw thousands to arenas around the world, their broadcast also reaches an incredible 100+ TV territories and 30+ languages.

With over $1.3 billion in U.S. esports market value and more than $10+ million in prize pools across domestic tournaments this year alone, the U.S. is a global leader in esports and will host more Tier 1 esports arena events in 2025 than any other country in the world including the upcoming BLAST events: FNCS Pro-Am Los Angeles, the BLAST.tv Austin Major , RLCS Raleigh Major and more.

The New York-based office will serve as the North American hub and will allow access to deliver more world-class esports events and content across the North American region, as well as further partnerships with U.S.-based companies and brands. The company also plans to deepen collaborations with North American creators, streamers, and talent agencies to develop original content, live event appearances, streaming and branded integrations.

Leo Matlock, Chief Business Officer at BLAST, will relocate from Copenhagen to New York City to lead the launch of BLAST’s new U.S. office. Leo will spearhead the company’s strategic growth in the region, oversee the development of a dedicated local team, and work closely with partners to deepen relationships across the U.S. market. With many of the world’s leading game publishers headquartered or operating in North America, the move positions BLAST to build closer ties with key stakeholders and explore new entertainment ventures tailored to the U.S. audience.

Leo Matlock, Chief Business Officer of BLAST says, “We’ve been deeply committed to the growth of esports in the U.S. for six years – hosting some of our most iconic live events here since 2019. Establishing a permanent hub here is a natural next step and also a powerful indicator of our long-term investment in the market. We have some incredible live events coming up across North America this year and are excited to continue to advocate this unmatched fandom and to work with national and local partners and brands, creating a positive impact everywhere we are. This move further adds to our global expansion efforts in 2025, with offices opening in India and the U.S. this year.”

The esports entertainment company’s global footprint now spans three continents and five major esports markets with existing offices in Copenhagen (HQ), London, Berlin, and soon to be India and the U.S. By the end of 2025, BLAST will have hosted 15 arena events across five continents, working with top publishers and brands to deliver premier competitive gaming experiences to a global audience.
