99.9% uptime sounds reliable, until you realise it means 8+ hours of downtime a year. For an iGaming operator, it is a business threat. One hour offline during a major promo can erase months of planning, budget, and player trust. Multiply that by eight.

Has 2025 Been a Successful Year for the iGaming Industry?
Reading Time: 2 minutes

We are witnessing major changes to the online landscape in 2025, with the rapid introduction of AI being a good example. The iGaming industry continues to offer players the absolute best in online gambling entertainment but, as we are now over halfway through the year, is 2025 proving to be successful?

2025 iGaming Statistics

The best place to begin when assessing the success of the iGaming industry in 2025 is the statistics. While stats can always be manipulated to a certain degree, they do paint a clear picture in terms of growth in the iGaming industry. If we look at some of the stats for leading iGaming companies around the world offering the very best in live‑casino games, we can see the industry is on an upward trend in terms of revenue. For example, the Betsson Group posted €293.7 million in revenue for the first quarter of 2025 and that, when compared with the results of 2024, shows an 18% increase in revenue. Greece’s largest iGaming company, OPAP, enjoyed an 8.2% revenue growth in the first quarter of 2025 and these are just two examples of iGaming companies enjoying a successful start to the year.

Country and Mobile Specific Success

If we switch to national success and the United States is a fine example of a country where the iGaming industry has thrived in the first half of 2025. If we isolate regulated online sportsbooks in the United States, they made $57.6 billion in the first five months of the year. Interestingly, that figure accounts only for mobile gaming and it is believed the average revenue generated per mobile gambler in the United States is $375.52 in 2025. Statistics show that close to 80% of all wagers placed in the world are coming through mobile devices.

There are many emerging regions where iGaming is beginning to take off and that has added to the initial success of 2025. India is a notable example, and the Asian country is enjoying significant growth in 2025 and is expected to see revenue increase from $2.9 billion in 2024 to $5.7 billion by 2033. Again, mobile gambling is the big driving factor behind these numbers and with cheaper Android devices becoming available, more people have iGaming at their fingertips.

AI Makes iGaming Personal

As mentioned at the top of this page, AI is having an enormous impact on almost every online sector and iGaming is no different. In fact, one of the reasons why iGaming has enjoyed so much success in the first half of 2025 is due to the implantation of AI. Thanks to AI, online casinos can match players to the games they like to play and make suggestions that are personalized rather than recommending random games. Bonuses are also adjusted using AI to match the expenditure and type of games gamblers like to play. Chatbots are now capable of answering more complex questions resulting in problems being resolved much faster than ever before.

All these factors combine to make iGaming successful and 2025 has been a fantastic year to date, with more to come in the months that remain.
