WBSC Europe covenanted with Sportradar – over an inaugural partnership
The newly structured World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe (WBSC Europe) initiated its first covenant with Sportradar.
In view of this covenant, Sportradar, which provides services to bookmakers, national and international sports federations, and media companies will become WBSC Europe’s inaugural partner and will serve as the organisation’s service provider.
Sportradar will provide WBSC Europe with its OTT platform solution, which will offer live and on-demand streaming of various baseball and softball tournaments across Europe. The deal will back up competitions such as the European Championships, Super6 and Youth Championships.
WBSC Europe was given structure last week through the amalgamation of the European Softball Federation (ESF) and Confederation of European Baseball (CEB).
With regard to this the CEB Vice-President and Head of Marketing and media, Rainer Husty, said: “This a unique chance to position our sport on a strong, joint platform; we see a lot of potential in this project for the growth of our game and are very happy to have Sportradar as a partner on our side.”
And Rainer Geier, the Managing Director of OTT at Sportradar, added: “This new initiative will help enhance the popularity and visibility of both softball and baseball across Europe with both live and on-demand broadcasts and video content available for fans.”
