AxWave to launch fantasy game with FanDuel and NBA

AxWave, a California-based software development company that specialises in a unique finger-print-based Automatic Content Recognition technology, is going to launch a new, real-time mobile fantasy game in association with FanDuel and the National Basketball Association (NBA).
The game, named ‘NBA InPlay’, makes use of the Automatic Content Recognition technology to synchronise with the live broadcasts of any NBA basketball games on cable or satellite television.
Users can download the mobile application, pick a team of NBA players to make up their team and play alongside the live broadcast, with the option to compete against friends or other fans to win various prizes.
Clifton Ma, vice-president of strategic initiatives at FanDuel, said: “As the sports landscape continues to evolve and grow, partners like Axwave, help FanDuel continue its mission to offer sports fans a truly interactive media experience that links fantasy sports directly to a professional sports broadcast.”
Damian Scavo, founder and chief executive of Axwave, added: “It has been an enormous pleasure to work with FanDuel and the NBA; we have found a group of extremely capable professionals, with clear vision and execution goals.”
