TouchTunes celebrates 7th year of Teenage Cancer Trust partnership

TouchTunes, the world leader in digital jukebox technology, is celebrating another year of partnering with Teenage Cancer Trust. TouchTunes has been supplying music for over 40 jukeboxes in their units in hospitals and clinics throughout the UK since 2011.

The company is part of a community of leading brands and personalities that support Teenage Cancer Trust, including Apple Music, NME, The Groucho Club and Liam Gallagher’s fashion label, Pretty Green.

Commenting on the partnership, TouchTunes’ Sales and Marketing Manager, Toby Hoyte, said: “As a company we’ve always had a strong focus on people, whether it’s the people listening in venues or the strong relationships we have with our operators, and using music to make a difference is a big part of what we do.

We’re delighted to have partnered with Teenage Cancer Trust since 2011, bringing music to the ears of young people up and down the country and becoming official music partners is just the next step on this journey.

Music plays a big role in the charity’s heritage with their annual Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall gigs featuring some of the biggest acts in the world including The Who, Ed Sheeran, Paul McCartney, Oasis, Kasabian, The Cure, Jessie J, Florence + The Machine and many more.

Jane Ashton, Head of Music and Entertainment at Teenage Cancer Trust, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support of TouchTunes. Music is at the heart of everything we do here at Teenage Cancer Trust and we know only too well the power of music.

With the help of young people we designed 28 specialist units across the country, down to the tiniest detail which included having access to amazing jukeboxes. We believe in giving young people the chance to be themselves despite a cancer diagnosis and music plays a key role in this. TouchTunes’ support has been crucial in making this possible and helps ensure our young people are treated in a home from home environment whilst receiving world-leading specialist nursing care.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity that provides the specialised nursing and emotional support that young people with cancer aged 13-24 so desperately need. But right now, the charity doesn’t have enough nurses and can only support half of young people with cancer.

TouchTunes is the largest in-venue interactive music and entertainment platform, featured in more than 65,000 bars and restaurants across North America and 75,000 globally. TouchTunes’ platform provides location-based digital solutions that encourage social interactions through shared experiences. Music is the core of TouchTunes’ experience, with millions of songs played daily across the network and a mobile app that lets users find nearby jukebox locations, create playlists, and control the music in-venue directly from their phone.

Launched in the UK in October 2016, TouchTunes’ Playdium is widely regarded as the world’s smartest jukebox. The Playdium learns from the music selected in the venue and adapts over time to highlight the choices that are most relevant, thereby encouraging play and maximising the cash box, which is close to 25% above the national jukebox average in the UK.
