bwin becomes the exclusive sports betting partner of 1. FC Köln
August, 2018 – Leading German sports betting provider bwin will be the exclusive sports betting partner of FC Köln from the 2018/19 season. The contract is initially for three years, running until the end of the Bundesliga 2020/2021 season.
As an exclusive sports betting partner, bwin will be visible on TV via the three channels/networks with relevant broadcast rights. In addition to the classic partner integrations, the cooperation includes comprehensive integrations on the website, the app and the digital channels of the second-league club. This partnership also gives bwin hospitality and branded content rights.
Tailor-made campaigns and promotions for FC fans on digital channels and various offline channels will in future offer a special fan experience as well as “money can’t buy” campaigns for the carnival season.
Stephan Heilmann, who is responsible for bwin activities in the German-speaking region, commented, “The billy goats are ‘noticeably different’: Almost all Cologne-based people are thrilled with their club – regardless of whether they are playing in the 1st or 2nd Bundesliga. This high level of identification makes FC a very special club. That’s why we are particularly looking forward to working with FC. With our innovative partnership we want to jointly develop new added value for the fans around the actual gaming experience.”
FC Managing Director Alexander Wehrle said, “We are delighted that in bwin we have teamed up with a market leading brand in the field of sports betting for a cooperation that has a high level of acceptance especially in football, fits in with FC and has significant digital expertise. Together we will develop interesting offers and content for our fans. We would like to thank our previous partners betsafe and bet90 for their cooperation over the past years.”
