Jaka Repanšek (Media and Gaming Expert) will take on several roles at the fourth edition of CEEGC Budapest
Leading expert on gaming, media, and digital law to bring Slovenian market briefing, moderate compliance versus innovation panel discussion and take part in the CEEG Awards Nominations Committee at CEEGC 2019 Budapest.
It has been reported by gambling industry media outlets, that Sportna Loterija (Slovenia’s national lottery provider) has struck a deal with Colossus Bets. Now, Sportna Loterija will have access to Colossus Bets’ multimillion-euro prizes and it is a major move that will expand the local gaming industry.
Scientific Games has also announced the launch of its new Tree of Wealth wide-area progressive link throughout HIT Group casinos in Slovenia and it seems there is quite a lot of activity recently.
In partnership with the HIT Group of casinos, Scientific Games has installed the Tree of Wealth link exclusively at six of the HIT Group’s gaming properties in Slovenia: Perla Resort and Entertainment, Park Hotel and Entertainment, Casino Drive-In, Korona Casino and Hotel, Mond Casino and Hotel, and Aurora Casino.
The Slovenia gambling industry briefing will be part of the “Regulated Central and Eastern European jurisdictions” compliance panel discussion at CEEGC2019 and will be joined by leading experts with extensive experience in the region, who will share important insights for both operators and service providers.
The briefing about the Slovenian jurisdiction will be presented by Jaka Repanšek (Media and Gaming Expert), who will share the insights he has on the tax regime and recent licensing procedures.
The 4th edition of the yearly Central and Eastern European Gaming Conference will take place on the 24th of September at the Ritz-Carlton Budapest, and provides a unique opportunity of learning and networking with the gambling industry in the CEE and Balkans region via the CEEGC platform which is committed to bringing together industry shareholders and government officials from the region on a yearly base.

Jaka Repanšek will also take on the role of moderating the “Compliance versus Innovation” panel discussion which will focus on key factors that stop sports betting companies, casino providers and other gaming experience providers, including loot boxes to bringing innovation. The panel discussion will be joined by Andrei Andronic (Legal and Compliance Specialist at Playson), Domenico Mazzola (Commercial Director at Altenar), Pieter Paepe (Partner at Astrea Belgium) and Dr. Alan Littler (Gaming Lawyer at Kalff Katz & Franssen).
Besides the briefing and moderating roles, Jaka Repanšek is also part of the Nominations Committee at the 2019 edition of CEEG Awards, alongside Dan Iliovici and Jan Řehola.
About Jaka Repanšek
Jaka has worked for various TIME (Telecom, Internet, Media, Entertainment) companies since 1996. He is recognized as one of the leading experts on gaming, media and digital law in Slovenia. Jaka graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and gained his graduate degree from Cambridge University in England and Faculty of Law in Ljubljana (Diploma in European Community Law) and completed two-year MBA graduate studies at the University of Kansas in the USA. Jaka is an active member of IMGL (Slovenia) and a member of several other domestic and international organizations and is active also as a lecturer in various seminars and conferences.
