Bet.Works’ Jay Rood to join Betting on Sports America Sports Betting Hall of Fame

Bet.Works is delighted to announce that Jay Rood, the sportsbook platform supplier’s Chief Risk Officer, is to join an elite list of industry pioneers after being selected to join the Betting on Sports America Sports Betting Hall of Fame.
Rood will take his place alongside fellow industry leaders and pioneers after almost three decades in sports betting.
Having started his career as a ticket writer at Caesars in Lake Tahoe in 1992, Rood rose to become head of MGM’s sportsbooks across the US before switching to Bet.Works in 2019.
Rood will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at a lavish ceremony during the Betting on Sports America 2020 event, organised by Sports Betting Community (SBC), in April 2020 in New Jersey.
“This is an absolute honor and I am thrilled to have been selected by my peers to join this stellar group,” said Rood. “The Sports Betting Hall of Fame is a great way for the industry to acknowledge those that have dedicated their career to expanding and enhancing the betting industry.
“I would like to thank all those who have assisted and guided me throughout my career, from those who inspired me as a youngster to those who have worked so hard to make my plans as an executive become a reality. Each of them has played such an immeasurable role in my achieving this honor.”
The Sports Betting Hall of Fame was launched by SBC in 2016, to recognise the individuals who have significantly contributed to the industry over the course of their careers with a lasting legacy. The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to honor, preserve and perpetuate the names and outstanding accomplishments of personalities who have added true value to the sports betting sector.
Current luminaries include New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Station Casinos’ Art Manteris and Monmouth Park’s Dennis Drazin.
