Spillemyndigheden to launch bid for three casinos

Spillemyndigheden, (The Danish regulator) will launch a second tender for three new land-based casino licences in Vejle, Odense or Aarhus. Two years back, at the end of 2016, the regulator ran a tender for the three licences, together with licences for two casinos in Copenhagen and North Zealand.
Spillemyndigheden renewed the licences for Casino Copenhagen and Casino Marienlyst in Elsinore, but the three for Odense, Aarhus or Vejle will undergo a second tender as the applications were declined the first time because it was considered that they were not enough in their scope.
In April, the Danish Gambling Authority (DGA) disclosed that during the Q4 of 2017, the seven land-based casinos in the country posted a decline of 4.4 per cent from the previous quarter and 3.3 per cent year-on-year. Nevertheless, overall gambling revenue forQ4 of 2017 was up 6.9 per cent.
