Aviva Launches Policy for Treatment of Gambling Addicts

Insurance company Aviva has launched a policy for companies to cover workers who need treatment for internet-related disorders like gambling and porn addiction.
“Addictions can have a huge impact on an individual’s mental wellbeing, and to their home and working life. The internet and smartphone apps are leading to technology-driven addictions such as online gaming and sensation-seeking entertainment, as well as a preoccupation with social media,” Dr. Doug Wright of Aviva said.
The policy is available to companies and organisations which employ more than 250 people. Also, children aged 13 and over are covered by their parents’ policy. The policy provides for face-to-face therapies, cognitive behavioural therapy, remote sessions by phone or video link, and in-patient treatment.
