Three Queensland Casinos Close Amid Covid-19 Outbreak

Authorities have ordered The Treasury Brisbane, The Star Gold Coast and The Ville Resort-casino to close for a snap three-day lockdown that aims to quash an outbreak of the Covid-19 Delta variant in the state of Queensland.
Although the casino operators initially expected to only reduce their operating capacities, the government has taken a stricter decision as two Covid-19 cases were detected in the community.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the areas under the new restrictions are Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Redlands, Moreton, Somerset and Logan. Residents must stay at home except for essential reasons and must wear face masks outside of their homes.
