EXCEL ESPORTS BOLSTERS ITS FORTNITE ROSTER WITH THE SIGNING OF JACOB ‘VEROX’ GIBLER

British competitive gaming culture brand EXCEL ESPORTS is excited to announce the signing of Fortnite player Jacob ‘Verox’ Gilbert cementing its commitment to bolstering its competitive presence in Fortnite. Verox will be joined by Freeman ‘FreeMedou’ Williams who takes on the role of Fortnite Manager as EXCEL grows its performance staff to provide its players with support in all aspects of competition.
Verox joins EXCEL with a long list of Fortnite accolades including appearances in 7x FNCS finals including a 3rd place finish in Season X as well as a top place finish at Dreamhack Open Solo finals and 10 top placements in Fortnite Cash Cups. VEROX’s first tournament under the EXCEL brand will be the Fortnite Championship Series Chapter 2 Season 7 event starting on 29th July.
Verox marks EXCEL’s second Fortnite signing after entering the esport in 2020 with Fortnite prodigy and the youngest person in esports history to win $1M, Jaden “Wolfiez” Ashman. Since signing with EXCEL, Wolfiez has received top place finishes at multiple tournaments, most notably 2nd place at Fortnite Champion Series Invitational where he took home $125K in prize money. EXCEL’s affinity with Fortnite doesn’t stop there as last year the brand signed Tottenham Hotspur footballer and gaming fan Dele Alli as its global ambassador. Dele’s enthusiasm for Fortnite is widely known amongst his fans, often using it to unwind and even celebrating his goals by performing popular Fortnite dances.
“At EXCEL we are committed to nurturing the best talent so when the opportunity to sign a home-grown player like Verox came up we knew we had to take it. Verox is an extremely talented individual and has shown an incredible amount of consistency over recent periods. Fortnite is a fantastic game title that is constantly changing, keeping it fresh for viewers of the competitive side of the game and I can’t wait to see Verox rocking the XL tag at his next tournament,” commented Kieran Holmes-Darby, Co-Founder and Chief Gaming Officer, EXCEL ESPORTS
“What drew me to signing with EXCEL was knowing that they have a great performance coaching structure and facilities where I can practice. I am also looking forward to growing as a player and working with EXCEL to create some great content to share with my fans.” added Jacob ‘Verox’ Gilbert
