Brazil dismisses gambling ballot again

The Brazilian Senate has announced another delay on the debate about gaming legalisation.
The Constitutionality and Justice Committee (CCJ) of Brazil was supposed to finally carry out the debate on gambling legalisation under the proposal PLS 186/2014. However, it was officially announced that senators have delayed the process once again, after two years of attempts to approve a gaming legislation.
The president of the Brazilian Senate, EunĂcio Oliveira, tried to take the debate on the games of chance in the South American country to the current legislative sessions. The members of the Brazilian Congress would have discussed during week the possible advances of the laws that seek to regulate the national market.
The legalisation of the game seems to have gained momentum in the collective effort of an advocate for the approval of the sector in Brazil. However, it could be a new fiasco like those to which the law has no longer been accustomed, making many announcements without making determinations, as the new delay proves.
The legislative gaming project has been gaining further support from Brazilian residents and political representatives. Although the debates in Congress on casino legislation have been interrupted with the national political, economic and social crisis after the impeachment of former President Dilma Rousseff and public demands for corruption against current President Michel Temer, experts consider the legalisation would turn Brazil into one of the most profitable markets at worldwide level.
