Oklahoma lawmakers to vote on a bill permitting sports betting at tribal casinos
The Oklahoma lawmakers are all set to vote on a bill to permit sports betting at tribal casinos once it passes a committee. The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA),1992 could promptly be abrogated if the US Supreme Court decides and states that there is pushing and calling forth from all around the nation for sports betting legalisation bills.
In Oklahoma, House Bill 3375 – which would allow the segment to run in its tribal casinos – has received accent by a committee and will be subject to mooting at the House.
The Oklahoma House of Representatives Appropriations and Budget Committee approbated the proposed legislation with 17 votes for and eight against. Now it is set to be discussed at the full House but, according to gambling research firm Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (which predicted the piece would be introduced), it is not feasible to get approved.
Apart from passing the committee, the bill still has uncertainties such as the lack of information on how sports betting would be conducted and didn’t include the punitive “integrity fee” like the one major leagues are pushing for.
