Esports round-up: Microsoft starts Esports academy, Riot offers a music festival and Rostermania begins

There is plenty of things happening in the Esports arena. Software giant Microsoft has joined hands with Electronic Sports League (ESL), an eSports company, to start a new Esports academy in Australia brick-and-mortar. Riot Games, the US-based video game developer, is planning to launch its League of Legends soundtrack with an MTV Esports music festival.
Microsoft’s academy
Microsoft’s academy is expected to focus on actually playing games at a professional level and the things that make Esports the addictive viewing experience for millions.
Riot’s music fest
Riot games will hope that its MTV partnership will help it tap further into video game viewership, which is now rivalling the traditional sports viewership. The live music festival is called Hyperplay, which will be broadcast from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Some of the biggest names in the game are already involved. Rise Nation, Team Kaliber and EnVy have all been involved in moves between teams. In the lower tier National Circuit, Complexity has dissolved its existing team entirely for the remainder of the WWII season, with FeLo heading to United in place of the team’s former captain who goes to Evil Geniuses. Rumours then started to circulate that complexity would acquire a Pro League Stage Two spot by acquiring a new roster.
Rostermania moves hard and fast, and the folks at Dexerto have a great hub going to keep on top of it all that’s well worth checking out.
