Rappaport, CEO of Foxwoods, dies

In an unexpected incident, Felix Rappaport, the CEO and president of Foxwoods Resort Casino, died on Monday.
Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation chairman Rodney Butler announced the sad news: “On behalf of the entire tribal council, Foxwoods management team and staff, we extend our deepest sympathies to Felix’s family,” said.
“With his passing, we have suffered a major loss. Felix’s passion for modernising and growing Foxwoods, as well as his friendship, mentorship and humour touched everyone who worked with him.”
He was previously president at MGM Resorts and current MGM CEO Jim Murren said: “We are saddened by the news of the passing of our former colleague and friend, Felix Rappaport. Felix was a member of the MGM Resorts family for more than two decades and is remembered fondly by many. Our condolences and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time.”
Cynthia Kiser Murphy, president of New York-New York, said: “This is a sad day for those of us who knew and loved Felix Rappaport and remember his unwavering commitment to MGM Resorts employees. His larger than life personality and sense of humour will be part of his legacy here at New York-New York Our deepest condolences go out to his friends and family at this difficult time.”
