Greece to grant new casino licenses
A commission in charge of granting new casino licences is seeking an investor for a new project.
The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC), the gambling monitoring agency of Greece, has initiated consultations with possible investors in its bid to offer casino licenses in Elliniko, Southern Athens, is close to its start. Once the consultations are over, the commission is likely to invite a tender to choose an investor.
HGC said that those interested in participating in the consultation process can get in touch with the commission before September 10th.
The HGC believes that the decision “reflects the collective vision and commitment to collaborate on the further development and implementation of a sustainable tourism destination.” And added that they want to see a world-class integrated resort casino operation as an important part of Elliniko.
The commission sees this project as one that would transform the wider area of Athens, the capital of Greece, and improve the lives of residents and visitors, as well as to enhance the Greek tourism product and become a growth engine for the Greek economy.
