The Maryland Gaming Commission reports that state’s casinos posted record revenues in August. The six casinos in the state generated US$128 million in gaming revenue in October, which represents 19 per cent growth year on year. The previous record was the US$156.6 million posted in May earlier this year.
MGM National Harbor, the latest casino to open in the state, led the revenue spree, totalling half of the state’s revenue with US$73 million.
Live! Casino and Hotel, which had been the biggest revenue scorer in the state before the opening of the MGM facility, brought in US$47 million in October. Horseshoe Casino Baltimore saw a 7.6 per cent increase to US$21 million, while Oceans Downs Casinos totalled US$6 million in revenue.
On the other hand, both Hollywood Casino Perryville and Rocky Gap Casino Resort experienced a slight decrease in revenues, reporting US$5.8 and US$4.5 million, respectively.
