New Hampshire lawmakers positive about legalising sports betting

New Hampshire legislators have hinted that there is good chance of legalising sports betting. Sources suggested that Governor Chris Sununu is in support of the move.
“We’re not creating a new industry here, we’re just brining an illicit industry into a legalized industry,” Rep. Timothy Lang told the Concord Monitor. “If the bill passes, they’ll seek town approval to offer sports betting there. That’d be the kind of place you can go to sit and watch a game and place a bet,” he added.
Lang is a proponent for the sports betting bill that would send 10 per cent of revenue to fund gambling addiction services, while most of it would go to the state’s education trust fund, with an estimated US$7.5 billion revenue going for education in fiscal year 2021, and US$13.5 million two years later.
