DraftKings pits best English and Australian bettors against each other in the 2020 DraftKings Ashes
DraftKings is challenging 20 English and Australian bettors to battle it out across five sports in its Ashes 2020 competition.
The inspiration behind the contests is the renowned Ashes Cricket series which is a fiercely competitive showdown between Australia and England over five matches, called Tests.
In DraftKings’ spin on the Ashes, the five Test series (contest) will be run across five different sports available on DraftKings.
Ten existing DraftKings players will be selected from each respective country to fly the flag for Australia or UK with two captains leading the teams.
Each team of 10 players is battling over a total of $10K being offered in cash prizes, with both daily and cumulative leaderboards.
The DraftKings Ashes will be run over a one-week period with the following contests:
9/8 – NBA
10/8 – CS:GO – E-Sports
12/8 – Soccer – Champions League
13-16/8 – PGA Wyndham Championship
14/8 – AFL
“The Ashes cricket series is fiercely contested between Australia and England and inspired us to run our own DraftKings Ashes competition. The rivalry between our two teams is already heating up and will no doubt reach similar heights as its cricketing namesake. We are excited for the contest to kick off and to watch the players compete for the prestigious title.
“As a digital sports entertainment and gaming company we aim to fuel the competitive spirits of fans and this initiative will help further drive engagement from both our existing customers and sports enthusiasts around the globe.”— Jeffrey Haas, SVP of International Strategy at DraftKings
