Web Traffic in Russian Bookmakers Decreases in 2020

According to analytical service SimilarWeb, the web traffic in Russian bookmaking sites decreased by 25.8% in 2020 compared to 2019. In 2020, 311.4 million users visited websites of Russian bookmakers, while it was 419.6 million in 2019.
The leader at the end of the year was the Fonbet BC platform with 89.2 million visits in 2020, which is 30% less compared to 2019. Mostbet lost 83.3% of its 2019 traffic and BC 888.ru 89.6%.
Only 5 legal bookmakers showed positive dynamics. BC Winline added 0.6% of traffic (36.8 million users). Olymp betting company increase its traffics by 30% (9.87 million visits) and BC Leon by 31.9% (22.2 million visits).
The most critical decrease in activity on betting platforms was recorded in the period from March to July, when all sporting events were cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But by the end of the year, traffic has grown significantly by 15%. In December, 4.5 million more players visited bookmaker sites than in November. The leader is still Fonbet with 7.67 million visits, but compared to November, this figure has decreased by more than 7%.
