Glenn Townsend joins Checkd Group as Poker Manager
partypoker LIVE recruit will oversee Footy Accumulators Poker League
Fast-growing iGaming business Checkd Group has hired Glenn Townsend as Poker Manager for its Checkd Media division.
Townsend, who was previously Marketing Manager at partypoker LIVE, will take on the role of delivering Checkd Media’s poker strategy, which centres around the popular Footy Accumulators Poker League.
A hit among its 1.5 million-strong social community, the Footy Accumulators Poker League is an exclusive partnership with partypoker and allows players to compete for weekly and monthly leaderboard prizes, with over £20,000 given away each month.
Originally launched back in March 2020 with the help of a range of well-known names, Alan Brazil, Ray Parlour and Jamie O’Hara have all taken part in the Poker League and helped to drive a significant rise in new depositing customers.
Checkd Media Managing Director Alex Beecham said: “Glenn’s track record with partypoker LIVE shows that he has the drive and expertise to maintain the momentum that the Footy Accumulators Poker League has picked up over the past year.
“We intend for poker to continue to be a strong element within our product mix, engaging our communities and driving traffic.”
Checkd Media Poker Manager Glenn Townsend said: “Checkd Media’s work in getting its Footy Accumulators Poker League up, running and as popular as it has become has been noted throughout the poker industry.
“I aim to continue to push forward with the development of what has proven to be a popular product to further engagement with the growing Footy Accumulators community.”
