Lamborghini Announces the Second Edition of the Real Race
Back for the second year is The Real Race, the world Lamborghini eSports tournament for the top sim racers in the world, who will challenge each other behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO in the Assetto Corsa Competizione game simulator.
The Real Race, which attracted over 2500 drivers from 109 countries in its first year, is offering a new global approach this year, with racing drivers who will compete both in the traditional Grand Prix and in three Endurance races to win an experience at the Lamborghini headquarters in Italy and the chance to become the first Lamborghini Official Sim Driver.
The tournament will take place from June to November, and racing drivers around the world can enter the open qualifying sessions from Monday to Friday. The top 40 players of the open qualifying sessions will move forward to the closed-door qualifying sessions hosted every Saturday. Lastly, the first 20 participants of the closed-door qualifying sessions Sunday will gain access to The Real Race, competing twice on the same track. The 10 weekly qualifying sessions for each region will offer participants the possibility to earn points and to climb the rankings to become the next regional champion.
Federico Foschini, Lamborghini Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, said, “eSports is a field in which we want to play an important role. The Real Race is a six-month event that allows players to experience the thrill of real competition through preparation and participation in races against some of the top sim racers in the world. We are proud to host this competition and to offer the winner of The Real Race the chance to enjoy an immersive real-life experience in the Lamborghini world and to have the perspective of a career in eSports.”
The Real Race reinforces Lamborghini’s commitment in the world of eSports following its partnership with the leading game brands, such as Rocket League and Asphalt 9: Legends.
The first week of the second The Real Race virtual single-brand tournament will be June 5 to 13, and it will continue with five weeks of qualifying sessions that will precede the finale to be held in Misano Adriatico November 22 to 28.
