Galaxy Racer crowned Champions in the BTS Pro Series S7 Championship: SEA Title with a Reverse Sweep Win Against Fnatic

A huge reverse sweep puts Galaxy Racer (GXR) on top of the podium as champions of the BTS Pro Series: SEA Season 7, defeating a regional powerhouse Fnatic in the best-of-five grand finals on Sunday, August 15th.
The reformed roster of Galaxy Racer stomped on Fnatic’s supposed sweep after getting reversed, with a score of 3-2, in their BTS Finals matchup.
It was Galaxy Racer’s first-ever major tournament win in Dota 2. They also had a clean run at this event since they did not drop a single series.
It was a rematch of the upper bracket finals matchup, where Galaxy Racer swept the series 2-0 to move onto grand finals and dropped Fnatic to the lower bracket. Fnatic played team SMG in the lower bracket finals, where they won 2-0 and secured their rematch against Galaxy Racer in the grand finals.
Fnatic was up 2-0 in the best-of-five series, yet Galaxy Racer managed to pull off an epic comeback to reverse-sweep the series and win the title of BTS Pro Series Champions.
Galaxy Racer also won against teams like the title-favorite T1 on their road to finals. T1 absorbed a stunning 2-0 sweep to Galaxy Racer in the tournament’s opening match held last August 2.
Galaxy Racer’s revamped roster is starting to make waves and show a great deal of promise for the next competitive season when they enter the path to next year’s The International tournament.
For their victory in the BTS Pro Series tournament, Galaxy Racer took a $20,000 first-place prize from the $50,000 grand prize pool.
The BTS Pro Series Season 7: Southeast Asia (SEA) was held online last July 27 to August 15. A total of eight (8) teams from different countries in South East Asia participated in the competition.
