The Game Development World Championship 2021 Beats Previous Participation Records!

The Game Development World Championship (GDWC), a global online competition for indie game developers, has beaten all previous participation records, making this year’s competition the biggest in the championship’s history. Over 2000 development teams from more than a hundred countries have signed up to the competition so far this year, with more joining in each day.
Developers compete with their games in multiple categories ranging from PC and Consoles to Mobile, and VR platforms. Hobbyist projects, Game Jam games, and Student game projects also get their own categories to compete in.
Winners will be handsomely rewarded with prizes ranging from professional game development software licenses and hardware to a coaching session by industry professional, and a trip to the event’s home country of Finland. VR category winners will also be offered a publishing deal! The competition rewards are sponsored by various industry companies including Autodesk, VRKiwi, and SideFX Houdini, with the total prize pool value being over 45,000 USD.
GDWC 2021 submissions are open until the end of the year, December 31st midnight Finnish time, so there’s still plenty of time to join the competition. Winners will be announced in an awards show in early 2022.
As a gamer, you can also help decide the Fan Favorite game of the year, by voting in GDWC’s weekly votes, where nine games are racing for a spot in the finals. The Fan Favorite winner will be decided in an open vote between all weekly vote winners in early 2022.
