The Caesars Sportsbook App is Now Live in Louisiana
Sports fans in the Bayou State are preparing themselves for the impending arrival of online sports betting. While brick and mortar casinos have had their doors open since October 31st, online sports bettors are still waiting patiently for mobile betting to go live. The legislation was officially signed into law in June of 2021, which will see up to 41 different mobile gambling operators officially enter the state. Until now, gambling in Louisiana was only legal at the riverboat casinos that would ride up and down the Mississippi River.
Just because mobile betting has not officially opened, it does not mean that the mobile apps are not open for signing up! Caesars is one of the biggest names in the sports betting industry, and although it opened two brick and mortar locations in Louisiana in October, there is much anticipation for its new mobile sportsbook app. Soon enough, Louisiana sports bettors will be able to make wagers on the hometown teams like the New Orleans Saints, the New Orleans Pelicans, and the LSU Tigers. If everything works out, fans will know that Caesar Sportsbook has great odds for the Saints vs Dolphins game which will be a primetime game on Monday Night Football in the NFL.
The Caesars Sportsbook app is one of the most respected names in the mobile sports betting market and is available in any state where mobile betting has been legalized. As with previous states, Louisiana sports bettors will be able to receive a free $100 in bets just for signing up for an account with the Caesars Sportsbook app. The best part about that offer is that players will not even need to make an initial deposit! Once players sign up for their account, they will have access to the lucrative Caesars Rewards Program which provides prizes, free bets, and even rooms and upgrades at Caesars hotel properties.
Which Sports Can I Bet On At the Caesars Sportsbook App?
Louisiana residents will have the opportunity to wager on all major North American sports leagues as well as some international leagues too. This includes the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA sports, of which there is plenty of representation in Cajun Country. Sports bettors can also choose from other sports including golf, tennis, or soccer from the Caesars Sportsbook App in Louisiana, with a full range of bet types available.
Is Sports Betting Legal in Louisiana?
It is now! Although mobile sports betting has yet to officially begin, the legislation has officially been signed into law for the state of Louisiana. Brick and mortar sportsbooks have opened at land-based casinos all over the state, and it is only a matter of time until mobile sports betting goes live on mobile apps like the Caesars Sportsbook App. Players do need to be of legal age which is 21 when signing up for an account. Players should also keep in mind that mobile sports betting is legalized in 55 of the 64 parishes in the state, so there could be some limitations based on where you reside.
The Caesars Superdome
Residents of New Orleans may have already noticed that Caesars was making its way into the Louisiana sports scene. That is because as of July 2021, the home stadium of the New Orleans Saints officially changed its name from the Mercedes Benz Superdome to the Caesars Superdome. The deal will see the name remain as the Caesars Superdome for the next twenty years, as Caesars becomes the official sports betting partner of the New Orleans Saints and the LSU TIgers. The Caesars Superdome will host major sporting events like the NCAA Men’s Final Four in 2022, the Sugar Bowl, some games from the NCAA College Football Playoffs, and even the Super Bowl in 2025.
Where is the Caesars Sportsbook App Used?
The Caesars Sportsbook App is rapidly making its way into every state that is legalizing online sports betting. Louisiana is one of the latest additions to the app, but currently sports bettors in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, can use the app for sports betting. Soon to be added to this list are Maryland, which opened mobile and online sports betting to its residents earlier in December, and New York, which will likely add sports betting in early 2022.
Which Louisiana Sports Teams Are Popular?
The great state of Louisiana has no shortage of teams that residents can cheer for. Obviously the New Orleans Saints are one of the top draws in the state. The team is trying to find its identity after losing Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees to retirement. The Saints are currently sitting at 6-7, and are on the outside looking in for the NFC playoff race, a position that the team is not used to being in.
The NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans currently sit last place in the Western Conference standings and have yet to see star player Zion Williamson on the court this year. Williamson has a number of injuries including pain in his surgically repaired foot. With a record of 8-21, the Pelicans have one of the worst records in the NBA, and look to be heading towards another high draft pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
The LSU Tigers have been a team in transition following the great 2019-2020 NCAA College Football Championship team. That team was led by current NFL superstars Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, to name a few. This past season, the Tigers managed to finish the season 6-6 which guaranteed them a spot in the Texas Bowl on January 4, 2022 against the Kansas State Wildcats. The end of this season marked the departure of popular head coach and Louisiana local, Ed Orgeron. Coach Orgeron is to be replaced by Brian Kelly, who was previously the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from Southbend, Indiana. Kelly will take over head coaching duties in the 2022 season, as the Tigers will be coached by interim head coach and offensive line coach Brad Davis.
