VAMPIRE ESPORTS WINS 2022 PUBG MOBILE WORLD INVITATIONAL AFTERPARTY SHOWDOWN POWERED BY GAMERS8
The 2022 PUBG MOBILE World Invitational (PMWI) powered by Gamers8 came to an exciting close this past weekend as Vampire Esports was crowned the champion of the 2022 PMWI Afterparty Showdown. After winning the 2022 PMWI Main Tournament, the powerhouse roster claimed victory over 11 other teams live in front of fans in Riyadh, securing the win and the biggest share of $1,000,000.
Sony’s Xperia was the Official Smartphone Partner for the 2022 PMWI ensuring that all players perform to the best of their abilities.
After three days of exciting and thrilling matches, Vampire Esports was crowned the winner of the PMWI Afterparty Showdown with an incredible 180 points. In close second place was Alpha7 Esports with 174 points and Team Falcons took home third place with 129 points.

PMWI Afterparty Showdown unfolded from August 18-20th and included a unique reward system, where teams profited from fulfilling specific achievements during each match creating exciting new storylines including: first elimination of the match, first entire team wipe, and more. All three days also featured a showmatch where two players from each team played five matches on Livik and Sanhok.
The top four Best Duos, based on the showmatch ranking, received a share of a $15,000 USD prize pool. Stalwart Esports was awarded best duo and earned $8,000 USD, Alpha7 Esports came in 2nd winning $4,000 USD, DWG KIA came in 3rd winning $2,000 USD, and Nigma Galaxy was 4th winning $1,000 USD.
The PMWI Afterparty Showdown saw four individual awards handed out with ‘Stoned’ from Vampire Esports being crowned Eagle Eye, ‘RayZ’ from S2G Esports winning the Longest Elimination Spree, ‘Mythic44’ from Alpha7 Esports winning Most Headshots and ‘Revo77K’ from Alpha7 Esports taking home the Most Special Eliminations award.
Following their first-place finish, Vampire Esports has officially dominated the 2022 PMWI taking home both the PMWI Afterparty Showdown and PMWI Main Tournament trophies. The PMWI Main Tournament saw 18 teams from across the globe go head-to-head for a $2,000,000 USD prize pool from August 11-13, with Vampire Esports coming out on top and taking home $500,000. Following an exciting week of competition at the PMWI Main Tournament, the PMWI Afterparty Showdown took centre stage from August 18-20.
During the PMWI Main Tournament, PUBG MOBILE unveiled exciting new details about its greatest annual competition of the year, the 2022 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC). A spectacular LAN Grand Final will take place in Indonesia in January 2023. PMGC League will commence in early November and see a record-breaking 48 teams compete.
