Alan Davey named as Checkd Media’s new Head of Sports
Fast-growing iGaming business Checkd Group has appointed Alan Davey as its Media division’s new Head of Sports.
Davey, who was previously Product Manager, takes on the role of leading Checkd Media’s sports strategy as it takes aim at further growth both domestically and in North America, where its sports betting brand FlashPicks is gaining significant momentum.
With a strong background in product development, Davey will oversee the continuing roll-out of technology-based solutions and sports content for Checkd’s media and operator partners across the UK and North America, where FlashPicks is now licensed in 15 US states and Ontario.
In addition to the enhancement of FlashPicks, which now includes a US sports ribbon displaying NFL, NBA, NCAAF and NCAAB fixtures with odds direct from Checkd’s US bookmaker partners, the Group’s other notable recent successes include the creation of a bespoke Acca Assist product for Sky Bet and the signing of new partnership deals with several tier one bookmakers.
Alex Beecham, Managing Director of Checkd Media, said: “Our Head of Sports role is a pivotal one as we aim to continue making headway at home and internationally, forging new partnerships on both sides of the Atlantic.
“It was important that we appointed someone with authority and a deep understanding of our business and the wider industry. Alan’s experience and insight will undoubtedly help us achieve our goals.”
Alan Davey, Head of Sports at Checkd Media, said: “Checkd Group has made great strides in recent years and it is a privilege to take on my new role as the Media division’s Head of Sports, as we continue to make progress for the benefit of our partners and our sports betting communities.
“It’s an exciting time to be at Checkd Group and I look forward to hitting new milestones as we continue to grow.”
