Double celebration as YGAM wins two national awards

YGAM has won two national awards for the important work it does to safeguard young people against gaming and gambling harms.
The charity scooped an esteemed National Children and Young People Award at an awards ceremony in Birmingham on Thursday night. In a competitive category, YGAM collected the prestigious ‘Wellbeing Award’ which recognises an individual or organisation who goes above and beyond to promote wellbeing for children and young people. The event was attended by over 400 representatives from organisations that work in all areas of care and support in children, young people and family services, whether it be care homes, local authorities, fostering and adoption services or the voluntary sectors.
The celebrations continued for YGAM on Friday night when the charity triumphed at the National Awards for Pastoral Care in Education. YGAM won the ‘The Outstanding Contribution to Pastoral Care Award’ at a presentation event in Worcester. The accolade highlights a person, group or organisation that has made a real difference for the benefit of young people in the area of pastoral care.
Dr Jane Rigbye, Chief Executive of YGAM, celebrated the awards saying: “I’m thrilled that our outstanding team is receiving this recognition on a national level. Winning these awards reemphasizes our credibility as a leader in our field and provides us with a valuable platform to raise awareness of the important work we do. I’m extremely proud of everyone at YGAM and the positive impact we are making every day to the lives of our future generations. We’re looking forward to building on these strong foundations as we launch our ambitious new strategy in January.â€
The awards were entered by hundreds of organisations from across the UK. Shortlisted candidates for both awards were reviewed by highly respected panels of independent judges. Finalists were put through a robust process which required organisations to evidence the effectiveness and impact of their work.
