Wimbledon 2023 betting: Novak Djokovic set to continue his domination?
The world-famous Wimbledon tennis tournament is imminent and the sport is currently incredibly popular as a result. There is hype surrounding the event, as fans discuss potential winners and surprise packages. Some of the sport’s most legendary players will be attempting to break new ground and set new records. There could also be some fresh stars that are set to showcase their talents to the tennis world.
Novak Djokovic is the favorite
Novak Djokovic is the favorite to secure victory in the men’s singles tournament at Wimbledon. He is set to break the record of 22 grand slams that he holds jointly with Rafael Nadal.
If the Serbian does not claim victory at the French Open, then he will surely make no mistake in London. He is offered at +110Â in tennis betting to secure a remarkable eighth triumph at Wimbledon. That is the sort of feat that is usually only achieved in the virtual world of gaming. In the Wimbledon odds, Daniil Medvedev is expected to present tough opposition for Djokovic. The former world number one is offered at +700 to win his second-ever tennis grand slam.

All of the momentum is in the Serbian’s favor going into the tournament. Aside from the wealth of experience and prior success, he has under his belt. Djokovic will go into the tournament having won the last four Wimbledon events, the British-based grand slam has been a venue of sustained success throughout his career.
Djokovic has already wrapped up the Australian Open this year and is widely expected to claim victory Roland Garros. It would take truly exceptional opposition performances to prevent Djokovic from winning again while he is in such fine form. The Serbian seems absolutely unstoppable at present, but there are certainly others that are motivated to find a way to defeat him.
Daniil Medvedev
As priorly mentioned, the Russian is seen as one of Djokovic’s stronger opponents at Wimbledon. Medvedev has faced Djokovic in a final twice before, back in the Australian Open of 2021 he was defeated. However, later in that year in the US Open, he got his revenge with a victory over the Serbian in the final.

The 27-year-old is a player that has fallen at the final hurdle many times in grand slam tournaments. However, he will go into the British event with the knowledge that he won his sole grand slam at the expense of Djokovic. Medvedev will need to produce a flawless performance if he is to get the better of the current version of the reigning champion.
Potentially defeating Djokovic in two finals consecutively would be a remarkable feat in itself. The Russian will likely get his shot at the huge achievement, as the two are one of the most likely matchups for the eventual final at Wimbledon’s centre court.
It is extremely difficult to look beyond Djokovic as we head towards the showpiece Wimbledon event. The Serbian is in some of the strongest form of his career, despite his enormously high standards. But Medvedev ended Djokovic’s attempt to win all of the grand slams in 2021, this year he could perhaps unveil the blueprint to guide the Serbian away from making history once again.
